    The 6″ diameter plain face expander wheels use a standard 18-15/16″ coated abrasive band. Expansion caused by centrifugal force during the wheel’s rotation holds the band in place. The smooth surface beneath the abrasive sleeve allows this expander to be used for light sanding and contour finishing with fine grit abrasives. Coarser abrasive sleeves may be used for more aggressive stock removal.

    • Accepts standard 18-15/16″ abrasive bands
    • 40 durometer hardness – rated for 3,200 RPM
    • 60 durometer hardness – rated for 3,650 RPM
    • Standard sizes: 6″ diameter x 1″ bore
    • Widths: 1″, 1-1/2″, 2″, 2-1/2″ and 3″
    • Reducing bushings: 1/2″ ID, 5/8″ ID, 3/4″ ID, 7/8″ ID

These wheels are completely encased and hold the abrasive sleeve securely in place for stock removal and general-purpose sanding applications.

    The slotted expander wheel uses standard coated abrasive sleeves that completely encase the wheel diameter. The abrasive sleeve is held securely in place during operation by centrifugal force created by the wheel’s rotation. This wheel may be used for stock removal and general-purpose sanding.

    These slotted expanders fit standard abrasive sleeves and cones. Both styles use coated abrasive sleeves and cones, which completely encase the rubber diameter. The abrasive is held in place with centrifugal force generated by the rotation of the tool.

    • Available 1/2″ thru 2-1/2″ diameter up to 3″ wide
    • Mounted on 1/4″ mandrel
    • Other sizes available upon request
    • Standard C138E expanders are permanently mounted on a 1/4″ steel mandrel


    C138ET Slotted Tapered Expander Mandrels Product Details:


    • Sizes to fit standard abrasive cones
    • Tapered expanders have threaded bores
